Do you guys remember the scene in Devil Wears Prada, when Miranda Priestly basically shuns her assistant for suggesting they do a floral editorial for the spring issue of Runway? “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.”
So… Hi. That’s me today.
If you’ve had any type of presence on social media today, you know that it was the first OFFICIAL day of spring. (Insert lots of flower emojis here.) And what better way to celebrate than the most over-the-top spring outfit? #sorrymiranda
It was so beautiful here in La Jolla today. To my surprise, despite being a Sunday, so many San Diego florists were open in honor of the holiday, (yes, it’s a holiday) and I couldn’t help but spend my day busying around town, smelling the flowers being sold on the street corner, popping into little boutiques and scouting a new coffee joint for an almond iced latte. Being that it’s Sunday in San Diego, half of the patrons out and about today were barefoot, carrying a surfboard, and covered in sand… but none of them were nearly as excited for spring as moí, because I was the only one in FLORAL PRINT!
And of course, I had to stop by my favorite little spot on Eads Avenue to snap a few shots in front of the colored wall.
I recently found out that Modern Vintage Boutique in Draper, Utah ships pretty much wherever your pretty little heart resides, so I went a little crazy with the online shopping because I absolutely needed the perfect springtime outfit. (He swears he doesn’t, but I think my FedEx guy secretly hates me.) I was a little bit nervous to order a blazer online because I wanted it to be fitted, but I was so pleased to find that everything that came in my Modern Vintage shipment fit super true to size and looked exactly the way it did online. Crisis averted!
How sweet are these scallop sleeves? Aptly named the Scallop Me Up dress, this fun little frock is only $32 and also comes in neon pink.
And yes. My shoes. Do you die?!
They’re just as comfy as they are cute, and they come in other colors, like bubblegum pink, floral, and yellow. If you don’t want three straps (they’re called triple deckers, so cute), you can also opt for just the double decker. I like extra support because I hate walking in heels, so three it was. And (yay!) I’ve teamed up with Modern Vintage for you guys all to get your very own spring outfit! Enter the code “CandC” at checkout for 15% off any purchase!
This outfit was pretty much made for my favorite necklace ever. His name is Maverick (seriously) and he was designed by the wonderful Sarah Briggs of Sarah Briggs Jewelry. The Maverick necklace is my favorite because I’m absolutely obsessed with pairing rose gold and white for spring, but he also comes in a funky fiesta color palette. (Can you say Cabo!?) Sarah Briggs Jewelry is so beautiful, I had such a hard time choosing one of her pieces. Sarah is by far the kindest designer I have ever worked with, and her heart and soul go into making fabulous jewelry. The designs are so intricate!
My druzy studs are from Jax Kelly, and if you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that my love affair with Jax Kelly began last year at WWD Magic, when I ran across her booth and then wouldn’t leave. Jax Kelly’s handmade earrings are intentionally mismatched, and have the cutest tagline- they’re sisters, not twins! These ones are the Rose Gold Teardrop Druzy studs, and retail for just $28 each. Enjoy yours! They spark so many compliments.
My saddle bag is from my newest obsession for accessories, Shop Suey Boutique. It reminds me so much of the famous Marcie crossbody by Chloé, sans the hefty pricetag upwards of $1,000. This little gem from Shop Suey is called the Erica bag, and it’s under $40. Ever heard of the phrase Do one thing really well? Well… Shop Suey is their name, and accessories is their game. Their collection of handbags is out of control and so affordable. There’s not one bag that’s over $60! I just knew you guys would love their purses. It took me so long to choose. They have pretty much every color and style of handbag a girl could dream of.
These sunnies are also from Shop Suey, and retail for just $12.50. Lucky for you (as if Shop Suey isn’t affordable enough), enter the code ‘CC20’ at checkout for 20% off!
Hope you lovelies enjoyed the first day of Spring. What did you wear?!
