Happy Monday, Cotton and Cab’ers!
I know, I shouldn’t be nearly as excited as I am for Monday, but I’m SO excited to share with you guys the price points behind this outfit. This shirt looks like it’s $300, right? WRONG. UNDER $40. Okay, hold on… but I’ll get there.
Let’s talk about jeans. Good butt jeans, specifically. You know the kind. Like, you have I don’t care, I’m just running to Starbucks boyfriend jeans, and then you have date night good. butt. jeans. Amiright?!
So… these are mine. In my experience,
good great butt jeans are usually found in department stores. With security tags on them. Because they’re worth an arm and a leg. And don’t get me wrong: every girl should have at least one pair of basic premium denim like these, because there’s nothing better than really soft pima cotton. But not every pair of jeans you own should be over $100. In fact, I firmly object to it.
I have a very specific body type, which I have found is very difficult to find denim for in the under-a-million-dollars category. I’m super tall, (5’9” barefoot) but also curvy, which is apparently some sort of sizing oxymoron. Let’s be real: I just DON’T want to dish out $150 for a pair of pants!
Forever21 has a great selection of great butt jeans that range from low to high raise (I almost always go with a high rise), that I’ve linked at the end of this post, as well as one plus size option that are super cute and flattering. These, as you can see, are a skinny, which look great with a nude heel.
I paired my good butt jeans (swear, that’s the last time I’ll call them that) with the sweetest bell sleeved open back top from LAMODA101. It’s only $38 (freaking out) and I wore it to dinner two nights in a row over the weekend. I’m absolutely obsessed with it.
And how cool is this collar statement necklace? So many fun colors. I feel like I should be on my way to Bora Bora or something. I got it from Shop Suey Boutique, who has the most fun and affordable accessories. You guys know I shop there allllll the time, but they just have everything! This necklace is called the Kellyanne, and retails for just $18.50. For this entire thing! Tassels and all! So fun.
If you fall in love with a black piece, like I have, and absolutely have to wear it in April, don’t sweat it. Wearing black in the spring time is totally acceptable with the right amount of light elements. I opted for this fun statement necklace, somewhat lighter denim, and this super cute a pastel pink handbag from Lou Lou. I also went with a pale pink on my nails to keep this look light.
