Happy Saturday, C+C babes! Don’t mind me, just picking some oranges at the orange groves today, or as I like to call it… the Mimosa Farm. 😀
I’m so sorry for being a little behind in sharing my outfits this week. I think we should definitely address the elephant in the room (no, not the bags under my eyes, the other elephant) so yes, my hair is a bit darker on top. And your eyes aren’t deceiving you; it is also longer, thicker, and more beautiful than usual. 😉
If you follow me on Snapchat, you know that I decided to go a striking shade of platinum blonde to kick off my coverage of Fashion Week San Diego and debut my partnership with Fiori Hair Extensions, which I think I got more compliments on that night than anything else I was wearing. (Seriously, they are gorg!)
However, my natural hair absolutely hated being platinum, and for the sake of its long-term health, I had to make a last minute emergency decision back to my natural color- a darker blonde. Fiori extensions are 100% remi hair and are the most beautiful and healthy locks I’ve ever seen. And of course, they’re human hair, and can be treated just like your home-grown hair. (Washed, blow-dried, flat-ironed and curled, colored, you name it.)
I’m actually wearing Fiori hair in platinum blonde, and I had my stylist lace a bit of the caramel color she put on my roots into a few of the extension wefts for this transition while my hair recovers from the shock of Fashion Week. (I learned my lesson.) It blended beautifully with my new caramel color and look REALLY cool when all put together. Only the finest hair extensions you can do this to, which is why I only wear Fiori and they were the only extension line I considered partnering with.
Okay, enough hair talk. (Sorry, I’m obsessed with these new extensions…)
I SWORE I was going to chill with the off-the-shoulder trend for a bi,t but I just found this ivory and cobalt dress from Gray Door Boutique in Houston and I absolutely had to have it. It’s called the She Wanders to the Sea dress. I mean, I really could see myself on a yacht in this thing, but also, does this print not remind you of formal china? I think we can all agree that this was an appropriate exception to my temporary OTS ban. The sleeves are lined with baby tassels and little cutouts, and the handcrafted detail far outweighs the price. How is this only $34?
I was super happy with my shipment from Gray Door. I got tracking info right away and my package came immediately. Best customer service ever!
I paired this dress with a pair of my favorite wedges by Kenneth Cole, the Olivia. These are actually available RIGHT NOW in select Marshall’s stores for only $40, so call your local one to see if you lucked out. If not, you can find still them here, although I do anticipate they’ll be on sale soon.
And of course, I wear my unreasonable amount of Alex and Ani bangles with pretty much everything. I actually have 15 now, which get really noisy when I wear them all together. My max at one time is about 8, although today I just grabbed a few random ones from my stack. They’re all kind of turned around in these shots, but I did link the ones that you can see in this stack at the end of this post. (My room is starting to look like an Alex and Ani store.)
What are your plans this weekend, babes? I’d love to hear!
