Hey C+C’ers! I am absolutely loving two trends that seem to be having a moment right now: 70’s inspired bell sleeves and lace up flats. But how do you do them on a budget?
This bell-sleeved look is a floral mini dress from Ruby Claire Boutique. Beverly Mitchell is a huge fan of them– y’know, Lucy from 7th Heaven? I actually stumbled across Ruby Claire on Instagram and totally fell for these vibrant colors. It also has a really cute tassel detail on it that looks like a necklace, so I really didn’t accessorize this look very much. It really didn’t need it!
I’m 5’9” and went with a size medium per usual. The dress is actually a tad longer in the back than it is in the front, so the length was perfect. I was also really impressed with the quality of the fabric– I know that’s kind of a weird compliment, but there’s this new trend of dresses made of super-sheer cotton lately and I’m not into it at all… and I don’t know why anyone would be! The liner + fabric on this mini dress was totally opaque and not see through at all. I was actually wearing red underwear with this and you couldn’t even see if you tried. (Don’t try. Please.)
Ugh, just love this little dress. I feel like I could wear it to a summer wedding. Can one of you guys get engaged, please?
Oh, and this bag is the same Madison West Lauren tote from the last blog post. Looks a bit different with a dress, doesn’t it? I just love this structured bag! It goes with everything and it makes it easy to change a look up. It really pulls out the neutrality in this floral dress, kind of toning down all the blues and pinks and purples.
I’m also really excited about this bag because as versatile as it is (we’ve now seen it with an edgy outfit and a super feminine outfit), it’s also going to transition really well going into fall; I love incorporating traditional spring-y hues like bone and blush into the grayer months to brighten up all the dreary charcoals and burgundy knit sweaters. Basically what I’m saying is that you need this bag to get you through all four seasons– and that’s not a piece you find very often. (Discount for you at the end of this post!)
I’ll stop gushing now. Sorry.
Okay… super excited about these! My lace-up flats are from Hawthorne Collection Boutique. They’re suede! These were the first suede lace-up pointed flats I’ve seen anywhere– let alone with the cute little eyelet detail! Even better, they’re only $23.80 with your C+C discount! (Scroll to the bottom of this post to get yours.) Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the quality and comfort of these flats! I actually wore them again after this blog post was shot out to dinner with Alex with distressed jeans and a white tank top. It was a really cute look and really spoke to their versatility!
I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoyed how budget fashionista this outfit is! The entire look (bag, shoes, and dress), is only $121.00– and just $57.40 for just the dress and shoes. How amazing is that?
This budget fashionista approves. Have a great weekend, babes! Toodles.
