Happy Saturday, babes! Needless to say I went a little uptown with today’s look. Can you believe how cool this unique skort is? The last time I wore a skort I think I was probably tackling the monkey bars. This one, obviously, is a little different; a skort 2.0, if you will.
One of my blogger friends told me it was a pants cape— most accurate description ever. This multi-tasking bottom has really reemerged over the past few seasons, but often leaves the less daring fashionistas a little confused. I obviously dressed this look way up, but it’s so easy to wear this look casually. You could dress this way down with a graphic tee, utility vest, and a statement necklace. These tennies would be cute, or a flat gladiator sandal. Good to go!
This particular skort is from a shop in the south called Orchids and Spice. They have really awesome and unique pieces; this is only $45 and 10% off with the code CandC10 at checkout. I’m also obsessed with this dress from them. Next order for sure!
They also have this really cool program to get a huge discount (even bigger than your C+C code) off your Orchids and Spice orders called the Golden Ticket. At checkout, just select the option that you want a Golden Ticket with your package. When you get it, you just give it to a girlfriend! It has a discount code on it, and they’ll get 15% off their order and you’ll both get $10 off your next purchase.
I’m also super excited to announce the official partnership between Madison West and Cotton and Cabernet. Being a budget blogger has been really difficult when it comes to accessories, so I really have to hunt for you guys to find affordable handbags. It’s surprisingly my biggest challenge as a budget blogger. (Until now! Woo hoo!)
Madison West is a complete line of structured and affordable handbags… and they are BEAUTIFUL. I am so in love and so excited to tell everyone about them!
The inside is gorgeous with this perfect MADISON WEST logo right where my sunnies go. This one is called the Lauren tote, and technically it’s a laptop bag! It’s also vegan– 100% faux leather. Some of you guys know that I manage social media for a living, so much of my work days entail driving from coffee shop to coffee shop to work. This bag has been my lifeline since I got it. My laptop, all my cords, notebooks, pens, and makeup all fit in this.
(And snacks. Always snacks.)
My tassel heels are from Filly Flair Boutique. They’re only $33! Side note– I always go up half a size in stilettos just because I assume all heels this high run a little small, but these ones don’t. They run 100% true to size, so when you order them, don’t go up! These are surprisingly comfortable because they have complete ankle support, which is nice. I’ve been dying for a pair of tassel heels lately. These would be so cute with a pair of distressed skinnies!
Emi, my amazing photographer, and I always laugh because I always forget to wear at least one thing when we shoot. We almost shot this whole look and then realized that I didn’t have on one of the pieces I was most excited about– my earrings! They were still in my purse.
Something happened when I got my ears pierced at 16– I either didn’t listen and took them out too early or they got infected or something, but my holes are really big. I’m so self conscious about them. I can never wear cute dangly earrings. Until now! I found Nickel and Suede here recently– they’re leather. Genius! These are so light and didn’t pull my ears at all. I’ve been wearing them like every day. They have so many colors, too! I got black just so I could wear them with everything but they have other cute colors like lemon, too.
Hope you guys love this look. I had so much fun styling it! Have a great weekend, and don’t be afraid to get out there and skort the rules!
